Woodchester Lodge is centrally located in historic gold mining Canvastown on State Highway 6. We are approximately 1 hour's drive from Picton, Blenheim and Nelson. Sailing on the Cook Strait Interislander ferry into Picton, travel along Queen Charlotte Drive and view the stunning Marlborough Sounds.

A photograph is a must. Your arrival into Havelock, again historic, is the gateway to Pelorus Sound and the New Zealand capital of the Green Lipped Mussel. For the next minutes to Woodchester Lodge, your drive takes you along S.H.6 to Nelson viewing dairy farming beside the well known trout fishing Pelorus river.

Before crossing the Whakamarina Bridge, offroad the Trout Hotel is seen, a past reminder of the 18th century gold mining activity up the Whakamarina Valley. Turning left into Te Hora Pa road displaying the blue Bed & Breakfast sign, 1 kilometre along this country road, is Woodchester Lodge.

The guest accommodation comprises a Queen Bedroom and Twin Single2bedroom with one bathroom and separate toilet.- The spacious Queen Bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed with beautiful linen, fluffy bath towels and a hairdryer. On your writing table, enjoy the perfume from the vase of garden picked flowers, or relax reading a book or viewing your laptop on the comfy couch in your room.

The Twin Single bedroom offers comfort, fine linen and bath towels, a wardrobe and easy chair. The Blue tiled private guest bathroom has a bath, shower and large vanity unit. Walk through to the guest lounge and read the daily newspaper or just relax. Our dining room is here also. where an evening meal can be arranged with notice.

Breakfast, served next morning, is delicious, before you set off to enjoy our beautiful region's activities. Sightseeing trips on mail boat or water taxi, fishing charters, sea kayaking, arts and crafts, gold panning, bush walks and the winery visits are a must in Marlborough, which is world renowned for its delicious Sauvignon Blanc wine.   The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre displays one of the world's largest private collections of W.W.1 aircraft. Driving from Nelson over the Whangamoa and Rai Saddles, brings you to Pelorus Bridge where you can walk through the magnificent stands of New Zealand bush. Woodchester Lodge is only 5 kilometres from Pelorus Bridge, before turning right into Te Hora Pa road at Canvastown, and arriving at Woodchester Lodge.
